Baby Hobgood: 14 & 15 weeks!

So these past two weeks snuck by me so fast! I thought I would put 14 and 15 weeks together since there wasn't much change between the two weeks besides a wee growth in the bump in my 15 week picture. (Mostly because we had a family reunion and there was an excessive amount of food! I was full all stinking day!) During week 14, we celebrated our two year anniversary. It was sweet and perfect. But mostly hard to believe it has been two years and were welcoming a new little member to our family during our third year of marriage together! My husband took my 14 week picture after our anniversary dinner together. By the way, he is has sweet as can be you guys...so thoughtful and kind. He got me the most beautiful flowers, scarf and necklace from Anthropologie, perfume, and a preggie pillow! This week has been so sweet as I looked back on our wedding day and we have just had fun together doing everyday life things. I have found myself stopping and appreciating moments I usually pass quickly by. I truly appreciate Heath more than he knows and cant even believe some days he chose me as his wife! He has been so wonderful through all this, I truly believe he will be such an amazing dad to our little. Excuse the sappy stuff, just cant help it! I think also it has alot to do with how fast this pregnancy is flying by. When 15 weeks snuck up on me I realized, "OH my gosh, we will know the gender of what our pea is in a week!!!" First comes excitement, then comes a little fear, then comes this overwhelming feeling of love that I didn't know I had for something so small. I am so excited to know this little heart and personality. I am excited to dream about what he/she will do in her life. Will he/she love basketball like their dad? Will he/she be silly and fun? Will he/she be creative and freespirited? Finding out the gender makes me feel like I will know them just a little bit more and that is amazing to me.

Sooo, the next time I update this blog we will (hopefully) know if it is a boy or a girl! Our appointment is August 5th, so be praying for first a healthy check up and for baby hobgood to be in the perfect position to find out!

This week, baby is the size of a: naval orange!
Due date: January 17th, 2014
How far along: 15 (1/2) weeks
Next appointment: August 5th
Gender: only two more weeks from today and we will know what baby hobgood is! 99.9% its a sweet boy.
Total weight gain/loss: I checked two weeks ago at my appointment and had gained a whopping 2 pounds but I am assuming at least 5 pounds by now.
Exercise: I have so much energy as of late, I feel like I am up and moving around pretty often. Mostly walking! Planning on trying to do yoga this week...Ill let you know how that goes. ;-)
Stretch marks: None yet but I bought Burt's Momma Belly Butter this week, hoping this can be avoided.
Swelling: None
Maternity clothes: Purchased jeans and shirts this weekend. When I tried on the pants I couldn't believe how amazing they were.
Belly button: Normal
Sleep: Sleep has been seriously amazing this week. I have noticed when I sleep on my side-belly (you know the position your knee is up and you're ish on your stomach and mostly on your side?) that my stomach feels like there is a grapefruit or something in it! Also, I got a pregnancy pillow called a Bump Nest as one of my anniversary gifts from Heath...and I will have to say it is the best thing ever invented and I might sleep with it for the rest of my life.
Food cravings/aversions: Peaches and grapefruits. I also craved pizza pockets and cup of noodles during week 14, haha! Still not fond of red meat at all. During week 15, it was mostly just fruits.
Symptoms: Not much of anything, a couple of headaches and a little acne.
Movement: Not that I know of...haha! I thought I felt something this week but I don't think it was the baby...most likely hunger.
Labor signs: Nope
What I miss: Nothing really at all!
What I'm loving: Brainstorming names for baby hobgood this week! We are thinking we will want to know the name when we find out the gender so we have about a week to decide. But it has been funny to listen to my husbands suggestions/opinion on baby names. He makes me laugh all too often.
What I'm looking forward to: Mostly our gender appointment, but obviously still having an obvious bump instead of a food baby and being able to tell Heath and my family I told you so that its a boy when we find out the gender. ;-)
Best moment this week: This whole week has been great. I planted flowers, did some decorating in our backyard, had two of our good friends get married, it rained all week in Lubbock a couple weeks ago, and had friends over for the first time to the house for dinner last night!
Milestones: Baby name talk for us. And for baby, him or her can squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck  their thumb! And more importantly, we had our two year anniversary! :)

Baby Hobgood: 13 weeks!

This week has been all about organizing our house into a home. I am such a sucker for interior decor! It has been so much fun but also makes me a wee bit tired than I am used to. We haven't had cable and just little internet this week so it has also made time for me to get a lot of work done. Which is really great during this busy wedding season I am in the middle of!

Heath started summer II this past week. I am so proud of his hard work and determination to finish out this summer and finish up in the fall. It is going to be the biggest celebration when he graduates in December. Not only because he will officially be done with college but because I want to celebrate him and his heart! He is one of the most driven people I know when it comes to things he is passionate about. He is worth celebrating everyday honestly!

I cannot even believe I am already in my second trimester! It has flown by so fast and I am trying to enjoy every moment. Not trying to rush ahead to get to the next week or month and not take advantage of the time I get to be pregnant.

Uhm, these beautiful bushes are growing in our backyard and I LOVE it!

This week, baby is the size of a: lemon!
Due date: January 17th, 2014
How far along: 13 (1/2) weeks
Next appointment: August 5th
Gender: OB said she would try to find out the gender at our next appt in August! Heath says girl, and I am still confident its a boy!
Total weight gain/loss: I checked last monday at my appointment and have gained a whopping 2 lbs. Haha!
Exercise: Moving and decorating this week counted as exercise right?
Stretch marks: None yet!
Swelling: None
Maternity clothes: I am thinking I am going to need a belly band for my pants soon! Mom friends, do you have any recommendations?
Belly button: Normal
Sleep: Sleep has been seriously amazing this week.
Food cravings/aversions: Not much actually besides fruit! I am not liking any red meat at all these days.
Symptoms: Nothing bad at all...I have felt awesome this week!
Movement: Nothing this week, but know its coming soon, I cannot wait!
Labor signs: Nope
What I miss: Dr Pepper this week, a large, vanilla creme DP from sonic. I want 10 of them.
What I'm loving: Having this sweet little empty room in our house that I know is for the babe. Also, being pregnant with my sister in law has been something that is so comforting. Just to be able to ask if her body is doing the same or just be excited about what is to come!
What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to having an obvious bump yet again because of the babe and not because of food. :) But especially excited for finding out the gender in three short weeks. AND our two year anniversary is next week!
Best moment this week: Making this house a home for us. Decorating is something that brings me inspiration on a daily basis and a dream job I wish I had. ;-) Also, finding the best pregnancy pillow thats ever been invented and asking for it as a anniversary gift!
Milestones: Slowing starting to show. Its funny to see people's reactions when they see me in public, they look straight to the belly before the face. Something I will have to get used to haha!

Baby Hobgood: 12 weeks!

Well, alot to be thankful for this week in the Hobgood household! We moved into a house on Milwaukee (which was a blessing and a half to find a rental so quickly!)! We saw our sweet pea today and heard their heartbeat. It took a while for the nurse to find the heartbeat with the doppler which made me nervous for about a minute. She said "Someone is moving around like crazy in there, do you hear that movement?" So yes, we heard our little wiggle worm moving around first...then the glorious sound of the heartbeat. It was so amazing to hear, I can never explain the experience. I just can't wait for all of you who havent experienced this yet and Lord willing you will someday...to experience it. God is so good. Heath's eyes lit up when we heard it and said "There it is!" and grinned. I will never forget.

After praying about it, we chose not to do genetic testing. We trust God in his will for our lives and especially in this child's life. So today, my OB (who is absolutely amazing) told us she would do an ultrasound real fast since we wouldn't be getting the fancy stuff done after our appointment. We were thrilled by this little surprise! As soon as she started the ultrasound, our little was kicking and rolling and turning in circles. We were in awe at how much movement was going on and to see all the little limbs and shape of this tiny little human. I cannot believe there is so much movement that I cannot feel yet. I cant wait! We got several little images of baby hobgood today. One that I love especially is a view from the top and the babies little legs crossed. Sweetest thing ever! Our next appointment will be around week 16 on August 5th and we will be trying to find out the gender...or our envelope will find out the gender then we will find out later at our gender reveal party! ;-)

Since we have been crazy this weekend, here is a picture of little (they are more important anyway...and there isnt much bump to be shown ;-)!)

This week, baby is the size of a: peach!
Due date: January 17th, 2014
How far along: 12 (1/2) weeks
Next appointment: August 5th
Gender: OB said she would try to find out at our next appt in August! Heath says girl, and I am still confident its a boy
Total weight gain/loss: I checked today at my appointment and have gained a whopping 2 lbs. Haha!
Exercise: Moving this weekend counts as exercise right?
Stretch marks: None yet!
Swelling: None
Maternity clothes: Got a cute plum colored tank on sale at Target and love it.
Belly button: Normal
Sleep: Great when I am actually asleep! I have woken up around 5am twice this week just because...and usually cant fall asleep again until 7:30am.
Food cravings/aversions: Still fruit this week! Peaches! And lime fruit bars...I could eat the whole box in a day to be honest!
Symptoms: Nothing bad at all...I have felt awesome this week!
Movement: None yet! I could have sworn I felt little pea jab back at the nurse today when she was looking for the heartbeat with the doppler.
Labor signs: Nope
What I miss: Just not getting so tired so easy! Moving is for the birds when you're preggers...and people don't let you do anything. Not my personality to just sit back and let people do things for me.
What I'm loving: Finding a house (rental) we can bring sweet pea home to.
What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to having an obvious bump because of the babe and not because of food. :)
Best moment this week: First finding a house that was perfect for us and moving on the fly! THEN, we had our 12 week appointment today, hearing the heartbeat, and seeing our little one move and twist and kick and be a wiggle worm for an ultrasound. It was amazing. TRULY! I actually teared up while looking at the ultrasound today! I held it back though!
Milestones: Ending my first trimester Thursday! WHAT!? So crazy!

Baby Hobgood: 11 weeks!

Every week flies by so fast. I can't even believe my first trimester is coming to an end here in a few days! This week I have struggled a lot with anxiety. Its funny, when you are trying to get pregnant you worry and think "If I just get pregnant, everything will be good!" then you do get pregnant, you worry "Well, I hope everything is okay!" "I hope our sweet pea is healthy." I keep having people tell me how it just keeps going when you have kids. But I have really been in prayer to trust in His will first for our life together and for this baby. And when I say its a struggle, it is a freaking struggle. Some days its so hard to not choose worry (the easiest option) and try to be in control of what is going to happen. Especially the days that I feel great! Its ironic that when you are pregnant you almost WANT to feel bad to know your baby is healthy in a way. (Strange I know!) BUT despite all that, I have been trying to focus on the unwavering truth that He has knit this sweet pea together in my womb. He brought this child to us when we're praying for it. He knows what is best. Sure, I can do what I can to stay healthy and do all the "right" things...but ultimately, God is in charge. He is all-knowing. All powerful. Omnipresent. He is in control. By no means is it easy. Almost every five minutes I have to spend in prayer and take a deep breath and repeat this verse...

"Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends ALL understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus!"
                            Philippians 4:4,6,7

So if you are a friend or family of ours...be praying for us to give complete trust to His will for our lives over the next 6 months! We know in our hearts that in the long run, everything is going to be a blessing and His plan is ALWAYS better than we could every envision for ourselves. But choosing this daily is hard! Weekly, I am thinking about putting something you can be praying for us for. And please feel free to ever let us know if YOU need prayer. We would love to join together in prayer with you!

This week, baby is the size of a: plum!
Due date: January 17th, 2014
How far along: 11 (1/2) weeks
Next appointment: July 8th
Gender: I had two dreams it was a girl this week, but I am still sticking to my gut and saying its a boy!
Total weight gain/loss: I actually have no idea, I will have to check my starting weight and new weight at my next OB appt. Probably more than I should have, haha!
Exercise: Very little, walking when I dont want to be sleeping.
Stretch marks: None yet!
Swelling: None
Maternity clothes: Still just yoga pants to be comfortable, but have been perusing maternity websites looking for some cute stuff!
Belly button: Normal
Sleep: Okay this week, I wake up to go to the restroom of course but also around 3am for no reason. Bummer!
Food cravings/aversions: Fruit this week, peaches and watermelon! And I eat soup as often as I can, any kind of soup!
Symptoms: Headaches, headaches and headaches this week. Also, first bouts of heartburn and indigestion.
Movement: None yet!
Labor signs: Nope
What I miss: I had a craving for sushi this week but don't miss really anything else. Not being tired after just cleaning and doing laundry. I spent the day last Monday doing some serious cleaning and that night I felt like I got run over!
What I'm loving: Spending time with my mom talking about what her pregnancy was like and how excited we are for her first grandbaby!
What I'm looking forward to: I am just straight up excited about this little human being apart of our family. I have had two dreams this week of he/she coming into this world and woke up thinking it was real. OH! And Lord willing, seeing sweet pea's little legs and arms squirming and moving around at our next ultrasound.
Best moment this week: Hanging out with my mom running around for an afternoon to random stores and finding our way to the baby sections to just look and get excited! Also, dreaming two different nights about our little pea. Hoping that continues.
Milestones: Does pregnancy headaches and heartburn count as milestones? Haha!
